Vale Retail takes UK shopping centres mobile

Submitted by on October 28, 2012 – 12:58 amNo Comment

UK shopping centre asset manager, Vale Retail, has partnered with Mobileweb Company to develop and launch a series of mobile sites enabling users to view and interact with its shopping centres across the UK. First to launch are services for Whitgift centre in Croydon and The Cornbow centre in Halesowen.

Mobileweb Company’s state-of-the-art mobile publishing platform, m.Discovery, provides all the features that mobile users expect; geo-location, mapping, directions, search capabilities, short URLs and QR Codes.

Each individual centre’s mobile site is fully optimised to work on any mobile device and used to promote the shopping centre, individual stores and drive footfall. A branded service is being developed for each centre and a stand-alone presence created for every store.

Vale Retail appreciates how a shopping centre goes beyond being merely a place to purchase goods. As mobile becomes an increasingly important vehicle for retailers to drive customers, Vale Retail is ensuring that the hundreds of retailers in its schemes are able to capitalise fully, in a totally managed way.

Christopher Willans from Vale Retail tells us: “We are always looking to place our shopping centres at the forefront of innovation. This partnership with Mobileweb Company will enable all our centres to create a really customer focused, fully managed, advanced site and start to benefit from the increasing value of mobile”.

Martin Wilson, managing Director of Mobileweb Company adds: “We are proud of the platform we have developed and the potential that it offers retailers. We look forward to supporting Vale Retail in creating sites that will deliver real value to the shopping centres it manages”.
