New ways and places to sell as UK retail spending slows

In today’s InternetRetailing newsletter, we report as UK retail spending starts to slow both online and offline, and as retailers look overseas to new markets – and to different ways of selling.

For just as ONS figures today showed a month-on-month fall in ecommerce and overall retail sales, so Laura Ashley this week reported a fall in sales and profits, and a plan to continue investing online to boost sales from new markets. We also report as a way to buy petrol online emerges: Jaguar and PayPal have developed purchasing from the car.
