Birthday Party and Awards 2012

Wednesday 30 May 2012

Welcome to the inaugural Internet Retailing Birthday Party and Awards! 18 July 2012

2012 is the 18th birthday of eCommerce and we’ve decided to throw a party to celebrate. We work in a wonderful, dynamic, open and friendly industry and an evening spent with peers in a wonderful venue on a summer’s evening is something to be savoured.

While we’re there, why not have a celebration of success with the inaugural Awards: the acclaim of one’s professional peers will round off the evening nicely.

In brief:

  • 18 July, 2012 on the Cannon Bridge Roof Gardens. An enviable vantage-point view up and down the Thames, a croquet lawn, marquee and the stars above (and of course amongst us!)
  • 6 awards: no pr-push or paid entry. They’re nominated by retailers, judged by retailers, applauded by peers.
  • Free-flowing party and mingling – not imprisoned in a dark room with endless speeches while waiters drip ‘jus’ down your neck… However, it could of course rain on us!

We could go on, but that’s the Birthday Party and Awards in a nutshell.

Timeline:

June 1 – judges announced

June 1 – nominations open from both the 300-strong Nominating Board and from the industry

June 29 – Judging day

June 30~July 13 – winners contacted and filmed. Secrecy reigns.

July 14 ~ July 18 – immoderate excitement builds to a peak

July 18 – IRBPA and a flurry of congratulatory emails.

Sponsoring Partners

Those sponsoring the awards do so in the spirit of supporting a celebration of our industry. We’re not naming awards after them (awards that, oddly, reward people for buying their product ;) ), nor are they going to imprison sales prospects on a table. Our sponsors do, though, have an allocation of tickets and so it’d be as well to chat to them, just to get an idea where their tickets are being offered…

Our thanks to our Sponsoring Partners Demandware, Fashot and Packshot, as well as our supporting partners Amplience, Touch2View and Kurt Salmon. See more on the Sponsors page.

On this site we have information on the event, judges, nomination process, venue and of course the awards and criteria. If you’ve any questions though please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Ian Jindal – ian@internetretailing.net – for questions regarding the awards

Andy James - andy.james@internetretailing.net – for sponsorship opportunities.
