eDelivery Expo 2016: Day One – Multichannel Fulfilment

DeliveryX

With a little over two months until eDelivery Expo (EDX16) returns to the Birmingham NEC, here is a summary of what to expect on Day One, 27 April. Last year, more than 5,000 people attended the two day expo which will once again be co-located with InternetRetailing’s IRX16 expo.
The theme for Day One of EDX16 will be Multichannel Fulfilment, and poses the question does your delivery service meet your customers’ expectations?

Customers are able to shop anywhere and at any time that suits them. Their levels of expectation where delivery and collection are concerned are, unsurprisingly, higher than ever before. Retailers and carriers who can’t keep up with customer expectations risk being left behind.

The day will kick off with a keynote from Walter Blackwood, former logistics director of Mothercare, and someone with unsurpassed knowledge and experience in the sector. The title of the keynote will be ‘Delivering In-Store – making the multichannel customer experience work!’

Further sessions throughout the day will focus on hot topics like combatting delivery fraud and the role of operations professionals in preventing such losses, and on the role of demand planning to use delivery and collection as competitive differentiators.

There will be a panel discussion in the afternoon on convenience vs flexibility vs free/paid for delivery and returns. You can expect to see leading retailers New Look and Sainsbury’s represented there.

James Matthews, director of non-food at Ocado will be on the podium toward the end of Day One, talking about being able to join the dots between your fulfilment operations and customers’ demands, before the closing keynote, which will be given by Alex Watson of SuperDry – we will be publishing an interview with Alex Watson soon. He will be talking about redefining your operational structures.

There will also be immeasurable opportunities to network at EDX16, or even catch up with some of the eDelivery and InternetRetailing teams, as we will all be there in force and would love to meet as many of you as we can.

You can find registration information here. We hope to see you there.
