In June 2011 at the annual WWDC in California a chance meeting between Danish app developers ignited a passionate app project that aimed to put the joy of cocktails into the pockets of cocktail fans. And so Minibar was born.
The creators of Minibar set out to develop a premium app for iPhone designed for cocktail enthusiasts and people who enjoy mixing their own drinks. Minibar is a collaborative project between app developers Shape, former Apple Engineer, Daniel Eggert and European mixologist, Simon Jespersen.
“We got talking at WWDC and soon realized we shared a passion for great apps and great cocktails! We looked at the market and felt there was an opportunity to design and build an app specifically for people who enjoy mixing their own cocktails and learning about the culture of mixology” says Nicolas Thomsen, creative director at Shape.
The focus on detail and quality is apparent as soon as you launch Minibar – which is available exclusively for iPhone and iPod Touch at launch.
The team has been working for 18 months, carefully crafting, mixing and blending the ingredients to make sure the Minibar experience is perfect.
Filled with preparation guides, tips on mixing and blending and a feature that suggests the best drinks to mix based on what ingredients you have.
Minibar looks set to become a must-have app for the cocktail community and beyond.
