Shoppers can now buy navigation systems from manufacturer Alpine Electronics’ new ecommerce website – for delivery by one of its stockists.
Alpine makes audio, video and navigation systems for drivers but until recently has always pointed would-be buyers visiting its website to a list of stockists. But now, using its new Shopatron-powered UK webshop, shoppers can buy direct from the manufacturer. Alpine then sends the online order to a local dealer for delivery. Soon there will also be the facility to pick goods up or have them installed at the store.
“Our dealers are extremely important not only to Alpine’s success, but to our consumers who are looking for the advice and professional installation services that you can’t usually get online,” said Keith Holness, Alpine’s senior business manager. “We believe that this solution will give our customers the best of both online and offline experiences.”
The launch of the UK service follows a similar programme in the US. Shopatron currently works with more than 60 automotive aftermarket brands and 5,300 dealers around the world.
