Are falling sales and rising prices down to the changing consumer – or Brexit?

In today’s InternetRetailing newsletter we have news of rising online sales and falling footfall. Is this evidence of a change in consumer behaviour, as shoppers move from buying in-store to online, or is it all down to Brexit? There are no easy answers, and the national debate will no doubt continue. At InternetRetailing we think it’s worth thinking about – and planning for – both factors.

Today we also report as ScS reports rising online sales, and Long Tall Sally expands online into Ireland, and plans to launch in Holland.

We look ahead to IRX 2017 with a preview of some of the technologies set to be showcased at the event, while today’s guest comment comes from Frank Lord of Aptos who argues that the biggest hurdle to omnichannel success may be the tech vendor.
