Black Friday trading – as it happens

All eyes are on Black Friday in today’s InternetRetailing newsletter, where we’re reporting on a busy day for the UK’s retailers. For whether they choose to take part in today’s sale event or not, this is set to be the UK’s biggest online shopping day of the year and the one when many will get the bulk of their Christmas shopping out of the way. We’re monitoring performance and events throughout the day in our Black Friday rolling report.

We also have perspectives from the industry, with guest comment from Andrew Mabbutt of Feefo, who considers the retailer perspective on Black Friday, and guest analysis from Geri Tuneva of Qubit, who takes a data-driven approach as she analyses the effect the fear of missing out on Black Friday can have.

But it’s not all about Black Friday in today’s newsletter. We also report on leading retailers as they update us on their multichannel and ecommerce strategies.

We hear how Ocado Technology has tackled the challenge of communicating with a swarm of robots in its automated warehouses.

And we report as Pets at Home shares insights into seamless shopping and customer loyalty.

Finally, we’re also flagging up the latest IREU research report, this time from the brand perspective. The Brand Index 2017, now available to download, considers how Europe’s 100 leading brands approach the challenge of selling direct to customers.
