UK-based bicycle manufacturer Brompton is now shipping bicycles directly from its factory after launching a direct to consumer website.
The company launched its Brompton to You site on Shopify with home delivery provided by UPS. It had previously offered a click and collect service and delivery of smaller parts such as helmets but not the bicycles themselves.
Customers can now get free delivery in three to five working days. At the moment the offering is limited to the UK.
The bicycles come straight off the production line into the new packaging. This has involved adding a new layer of outer packaging for transit and including instructions in the box.
The new website uses a Shopify web store with an integrated live video service provided by Go Instore, allowing customers to see the products before they buy them.
