There’s an international theme to today’s InternetRetailing newsletter, where we report both on a surge in international orders in June and the move by Czech retailer Alza to focus on the UK as a potential new market. It’s an interesting juxtaposition: shoppers seem to be buying from UK retailers because prices are currently lower thanks to the fall in value of sterling. But Alza seems to be looking beyond that short-term position, seeing future growth in this market of keen shoppers despite its exit from the EU.
Further afield, our guest comment comes from Dave Anderson of Dynatrace, who considers common mistakes – and how to avoid them – when selling into China.
Today we also report on UKCA data that plots the growth of online sales using payment cards, while M-Retailing editor Paul Skeldon takes a mobile-tinged look ahead to this autumn’s Internet Retailing Conference.
How do leading digital merchandisers do it? We’ve rounded up 12 approaches used by IRUK Top500 retailers on their websites.
