Hailo developers add Piggyback function for time-strapped city dwellers
The developers behind the Hailo
taxi cab app have gone a step further, introducing a new Piggyback function to passengers who need to get around cities faster.
Hailo has added the new feature to its smartphone app that enables users to hail a trained human piggyback carrier. The developer promises the carrier will arrive in minutes, wherever the passenger’s location. They say Piggybackers, recruited for their athleticism, bring knowledge of the city and an ability to dart in between the traffic, sometimes challenging traditional taxi cabs for speed. Passengers can enjoy a 360 view of their surroundings from the carriers, which come in a variety of shapes and sizes.
“Our latest technology represents our continued promise to find new ways to transport people around the city quickly, conveniently and reliably,” said Hailo’s head of personal transportation product Olaf Spirls. “With our latest feature, we really do have our passengers’ backs.”
Lori Floaps, Hailo Piggybacker, added: “Hailo approached me as I’m well known locally for giving neighbours a piggyback to the shops. I’m a real people person and I find giving piggybacks a lovely way to get to know someone, plus it keeps me fit.”Photo:
