IRX2015 PREVIEW The Digital Sales and Marketing Conference
We're running a regular series of previews ahead of Internet Retailing Expo (IRX 2015) focusing on different aspects of the event and interviewing speakers. Today our focus is on the Digital Sales and Marketing Conference.

Digital marketing may seem complex, but retailers who get to grips with this emerging discipline discover many new ways to build relationships with their customers that can result in a significant boost to the bottom line. The opportunities can seem endless.

There's much to discover in order to make the most of those opportunities, however. Speakers in the Digital Sales and Marketing Conference aim to help answer some key questions.

"How can digital be leveraged to help shape a customer-centric culture and deliver more compelling customer experiences? How can data, journey mapping and personalisation be used to create more targeted campaigns to drive behavioural change? How can content, social, search and other digital marketing tools deliver customer satisfaction and bottom line results? How can you measure success across channels? These are just some of the questions that will be addressed in Digital Marketing," says Lisa Ploude IRX conference director.

Andrew Murphy, retail director at John Lewis , is the opening keynote speaker. He'll be considering the role digital has played in revitalising city centre shopping. His presentation, Online and the rebirth of the High Street, is at 10.35am.

Then Celia Pronto, group marketing and ecommerce director at Ford Retail, will discuss what retail boards can learn from the customer. Her presentation, Embracing the digital today by bringing the customer into the boardroom, is at 11.10am.

Claire Higgins, head of digital marketing at Selfridges , takes the use of social media in marketing as her focus. Social media to tap into customer mindsets and drive forward business strategies is at 11.45am.

Jamie Peach, head of SEO at House of Fraser , puts the emphasis on search and how it can improve multichannel shopping, making shoppers more likely to buy. Search to enhance the multichannel experience, maximise engagement and lift conversions is at 12.30pm.

A panel of senior retailers then takes an overview of how retailers of all sizes can use digital marketing to improve their opportunities. We'll hear from Richard Clark, marketing director at Boohoo.com , Caroline Rolfe, global director, digital at ghd, and David Kohn, multichannel director at the Snow + Rock Group in this discussion around Unlocking the potential of digital marketing to level the eTail playing field at 1.05pm.

A case study from conference sponsor dotmailer, at 1.50pm will then be followed by the closing keynote address.

We hear direct from a company that's at the forefront of social media in this slot, as Bruce Daisley, managing director UK at Twitter, speaks on Managing your corporate reputation in the digital today at 2.25pm.
