Deliveroo is planning to expand its coverage to a further 100 new urban areas in the UK this year.
The on-demand courier app, which has seen huge growth during 2020 as citizens were confined to their own homes, will be able to offer fast delivery to 4 million more people.

Areas where Deliveroo will become available include Yeovil, Bangor (Northern Ireland), East Kilbride, King’s Lynn, Scarborough, Llanelli and Exmouth.

The company will also expand its reach in over 150 locations where it currently operates.

Deliveroo moved from a loss to profit in 2020, with revenues rising 62% to £771.8 million while volumes rose 64%. The company added 36 new grocery partnerships during 2020 as supermarkets embraced it as a new channel for reaching customers.

Carlo Mocci, Chief Business Officer UKI, Deliveroo said: “We are pleased to announce that we expect to launch in around 100 new towns and cities across the UK and expand our reach in existing areas throughout 2021 with the aim of reaching almost two thirds of the population.

“With further lockdown measures now in place across the UK, we want to do everything possible to help households get the food they need and want and play our role to make sure families across the country have a wide selection of amazing food, drink and household products to order in as little as 30 minutes.”
