A surge of demand for online money-off vouchers that emerged in the recession remains high as people continue to try to save money, according to website DiscountVouchers.co.uk.

The site, which launched in May 2009, says it’s now seeing 60,000 unique visitors a day, and is generating more than £1.75m a month for the retailers it features. They include Tesco, Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury’s and First Choice.

The site now has more than 1.8m active subscribers and 13,500 Facebook followers.
