To date the travel sector has been great at delivering online services, but has not really seen much traction in mobile – ironic, since half the time its users are not at home. Anyhoo, Ebookers.com has addressed the growing need of its customers for a mobile way of making and amending bookings with a mobile site launched this week.

The site – which is designed for touchscreen phones and is a scrape of the companies website, optimised for the device – allows users to book and amend bookings for flights, hotels and car hire. Users can also look up detailed hotel information, photos and reviews, as well as maps.

Tamer Tamer, president, ebookers, said: “With the launch of our mobile site, we have taken a significant step forward in terms of meeting the needs of our customers. And we recognise the increasing importance to shop and book hotels, flight or cars anytime or anywhere for our customers. So if you’re on the move or already at your destination, simply take out your mobile phone and you will have full access to our entire inventory. That is why we have heavily invested in developing an easy to use, reliable and safe mobile website that allows our customers to do everything they can do on our regular site and continue to book easier and travel happier.”
