How retail responds to the growing impact of digital

Linked InTwitterFacebookeCard
In today's InternetRetailing newsletter, we report on multichannel and ecommerce retailers and brands taking sometimes brave steps as digital changes the way they do business.

From Mothercare, there's news of a rights issue to fund a digital-first strategy, while multichannel brand Jimmy Choo is set to launch on the London stockmarket, and John Lewis has created a new role in its business, of online product director, responsible for ensuring a seamless customer journey.

Today we also report on Tesco, where multichannel director Robin Terrell has moved into the hot seat managing its UK business pending an investigation into an overstated profits forecast, and on Moss Bros, where the role of ecommerce is growing steadily.

In today's preview of Internet Retailing Conference 2014, we interview Simon Langthorne, customer loyalty at Homebase, on big data, and report on a Barclays study that predicts online deliveries growing to 1.35bn a year by 2018.
