Mapping this month's multichannel and ecommerce trends
Mapping this month's multichannel and ecommerce trends
In today's Internet Retailing newsletter, we've taken a look at some of the multichannel and ecomerce trends that have emerged in our stories during May. We've some interesting findings: from the Northern powerhouse of retail, to the two tier shopping locations that are developing as consumers adopt an omnichannel approach to retailing, we bring together some of the month's most interesting and best-read stories in this post.

Today we also report on how retailers are themselves adapting to changing consumer behaviour - and what those consumers say they'd like to see. Argos has now opened, for example, its first stores within branches of Sainsbury's as the two look to bring their shoppers more choice, while Karen Millen is using supply chain technology to improve its customer service and Screwfix has reported sales up by more than a quarter in the first three months of its year, a success put down by parent company Kingfisher to the strength of its omnichannel services. Meanwhile, CollectPlus reports that demand for its channel-bridging click and collect services rose by an impressive 91% in its latest financial year, compared to last.

Today's guest comment is from Farzad Henareh of Stericycle ExpertSOLUTIONS, who considers how companies can best underpin strong supply chain standards, even during peak periods.
