Mobile sales grow fast at retailers from Yoox Net-A-Porter to Shop Direct Group
The fast growth of mobile sales is a key theme for retailers reporting their results this week.

Some 73% of Christmas period sales came from mobile at Shop Direct Group over Christmas, while Yoox Net-A-Porter Group said more than half its sales came via mobile in 2017 – with 96% of Cyber Monday sales made via on-the-go devices.

It's a figure that retailers across the IRUK Top500 cannot ignore. For it points to consumers grown ever more willing to pay via their phones and tablet computers for purchases of all values, and from retailers selling relatively expensive goods.

Today we also look at how German retailer Ernsting's Family is using machine-learning to optimise its sales across channels.

We cover lastminute.com's partnership with Rough Guides to enable third-party brands to target their travel customers at the "moment of inspiration".

We take our regular look at retail predictions for 2018, this time on payments and internal structures, while today's guest comment comes from Letitiah Obiri of Fashion Book Wholesale, who considers how retailers can encourage customers to stay loyal after the festive season.
