To Christmas, and beyond

Linked InTwitterFacebookeCard
In today’s Internet Retailing newsletter we’re looking beyond Christmas. The biggest online selling day of the year is still to come, according to forecasts from the IMRG and Experian Hitwise, who predict that as a nation we’ll be spending 17m hours checking out ecommerce sites on Boxing Day. eBay, meanwhile, says we’ll also be putting our unwanted gifts up for sale that day.

Elsewhere in today’s newsletter we have insights into how the shopping season has gone so far, as we report both on retail sales figures from the ONS and IMRG, and on ForeSee’s annual report on Christmas customer service. We bring you news of First Choice’s new website, and of Land Securities’ move to adopt product search across all its shopping centres. Our seasonal guest comment comes from Craig Sears-Black of Manhattan Associates as he reflects on how companies can improve their click-and-collect services to benefit from last-minute Christmas orders in future.

This is our final Internet Retailing newsletter of the year and we’d like to take the opportunity to wish all of our readers a very merry Christmas, and a happy New Year.

We’ll be back on January 4 with our first take on the sales season. We'll do our best to include all retailers who keep us updated on their season is going, by emailing chloe (@) internetretailing.net, in the next edition of the newsletter.
