What are retailers doing to give customers the ease and convenience they demand?
In 2015 consumers demand ever-more ease and convenience in the way they shop, whether in that moment they're choosing to buy online, in a store or via their mobile device. Today's Internet Retailing maps how some key retailers are responding to that demand.

We report on what John Lewis did to inspire a 20% rise in its online sales over the bank holiday and half-term week, how Ellis Brigham is using personalisation to make its website more relevant, and how Maclaren is adopting a new ecommerce platform for its global business as it looks to simplify its management of digital.

Today we also have news on how DPD and Doddle are helping retailers give customers what they want, and we report on a study that suggests most retailers want to adapt to customers' needs, but may not yet have all the answers on how to do that.

Today's guest comment comes from Kestrel Lemen of Bronto Software and considers how retailers can best engage with customers – on their own terms.

Our webinars

The next Internet Retailing webinar will be on June 18, when senior analyst Amy DeMartine from Forrester Research joins LogMeIn senior director, products, Ross Haskell to debate what it is that customers now demand from multichannel and ecommerce retailers, and how retailers can best respond. Delighting your customers with the right support takes place on June 18 at 2.30pm. To find out more and register for the free event, click here.

Jim Davidson, head of research at Bronto Software, returns for his third webinar with Internet Retailing on July 2. He'll consider what retailers can learn from the two 'moments of truth' when shoppers may drop out of the purchasing process – and how retailers can win them back. He'll also unveil the findings of Bronto research into a shopping cart and product page audit that spans more than 100 retailers. Revenue rescue: saving sales when shoppers stray is at 2pm on July 2.
