French fashion label Lacoste has a new online shop in the UK.
The launch of the UK site comes as the online business is rolled out across Europe.
Lacoste’s first ecommerce site opened in France two months ago, and it has also just opened in Germany. All three sites are operated by Netrada for Lacoste licensees Devanlay, which has the clothing licence, and Pentland Brands, which has the licence for shoes.
The shop stocks Lacoste clothing and shoes, and both the German and English shop offer features that have worked well for the French site.
Those features include a search that allows shoppers to filter products by colour, pattern and size. In future this will include the chance to choose complete looks, putting items from the whole collection together. Shoppers can also share their outfit suggestions and favourite products on social networking sites.
Eric Bascle, executive vice-president, group strategy and development director for Devanlay, said: “We are expecting substantial online growth for Lacoste as a part of our multichannel strategy and we will consistently expand our offering.”
All of the three local shops are based on a standardised online shop platform, which allows extra countries to be added quickly white taking factors such as local product range, delivery options and payment habits into account.
As part of the service package Netrada will handle the ecommerce produces from merchandising to logistics, online marketing and billing. It will also handle multilingual customer service for all Lacoste’s local European stores.
Netrada’s managing director Tobias Hartmann said: “This type of ecommerce solution meets the demands of our international clients in the fashion industry. They want a uniform branding but a local customer approach and local customer processes.”
