Since the launch of its French and German sites, Amara has planned to mirror its infrastructure and put in place plans to expand across other European markets, the first being Belgium which is due to launch September 2019.
The Belgian site will target French speaking users, whom are known to use the existing French site – 61% of native Belgian users use the French site. By having a completely localised site the e-tailer are offering their users a better and more personalised experience with a journey tailored to them and their needs.
Since their first venture into the European markets with the launch of their French site in October 2014, sales to European markets have grown impressively averaging almost 100% growth each year. To date European sales make up 21% of revenue so far in 2019, which is the fastest growing market for Amara.
