We’re still feeling the hangover from an August spent on holiday, according to figures out today and which we cover in today’s Internet Retailing newsletter. The downbeat tone continues in news that a new study shows almost 70% of UK retailers have lost important data and 22% have been hacked, along with the news that not one but two high profile pureplay founders are taking their leave of their businesses this week.
But there’s also cause for optimism: eBay Advertising says that it won’t be long before we’re back on the sofa and buying as we watch TV. Meanwhile we also have inspiration on approaches to linking the store and the website in an interview with Robin Phillips of Boots and we report on the latest from New Look.
Today’s guest comment is from Mark Thornton of Maginus Software Services, who considers what retailers can do now to make the most of Black Friday on November 27.
