GFS wins online distribution contract with Liverpool FC

Liverpool FC has appointed a new logistics company to handle its online distribution.

The appointment starts at a busy time, as GFS distributes Liverpool’s new home kit for the 2013-14 Barclays Premier League season.

“Liverpool FC is one of the biggest names in all of football and has truly global appeal,” said Simon Veale of GFS. “Therefore its decision to opt for GFS, especially for such an important sales point as a kit launch is a tremdous fillip for us.

“It is another huge business which has recognised how the great number of factors in online retail, including the size, weight, destination and desired delivery date for goods make simple, effective multicarrier systems essential.

Chris Jennions, Liverpool FC’s retail sales manager, said: “The most important part of the kit launch from a distribution perspective is delivering all of our pre-orders on launch day, something we guarantee globally. We need suppliers who can help us be at the top of our game and we’re impressed by what we’ve already seen from GFS.”
