Saville Row tailor Gieves & Hawkes has appointed digital agency Pod1 and digital publishing agency Illustrated London News (ILN) to plan, design and build a new transactional website.
The agencies in partnership have been tasked with creating a website that represents the premium quality of the brand and provides an engaging experience for the customer. An initial marketing website built on WordPress was launched at the end of September, and a first phase transactional site is due to go live in time for the Christmas period.
The aim of the new site is to build on the value of the Gieves & Hawkes name and its British, No. 1 Saville Row heritage and pedigree. The website will also deliver a seamless experience consistent with the bricks and mortar stores, and is intended to reach out to new and younger customers with digital marketing activity — a first for the retailer.
Pod1 will be implementing the Magento open source ecommerce platform for Gieves & Hawkes whilst ILN will draw on its expertise in content planning and development “to create a compelling and inspiring brand engagement strategy to lead users through the customer journey.”
