Halfords has revealed the continued strength of click and collect for its business in its latest financial results this week. For the financial year 2018 Halfords said that around 85% of its online orders are picked up from store through the click and collect offer.
“This high proportion continues to differentiate us from other retailers,” said the company’s chief executive officer Graham Stapleton. “Instead of cannibalising our bricks and mortar operation online sales have driven store footfall; both our online and store sales were in growth for the year,” he said. Total group revenue grew 3.7% for the year and 2% on a like for like basis.
Stapleton said the last year has also seen the continued embedding of the company’s delivery to store model, which was first introduced by the retailer in 2015. Halfords also now has a single view of stock and is planning ongoing improvements to its infrastructure, confirmed Stapleton.
