Social media is to the fore in the relaunch of bread brand Hovis’ website, Hovisbakery.co.uk.
The site gives social media followers, including its 118,000 Facebook fans, as well as followers on Twitter, YouTube and Google+1, the chance to share recipes as well as feedback and ideas. Relevant social media comments appear in an on-site social media feed while the five ‘most liked’ blog posts are shown in a leaderboard.
More than 40 recipes appear on the site including three from Olympic cycling champion Victoria Pendleton. Users can also submit their own culinary suggestions.
The site, redeveloped with digital creative agency Acknowledgement, carries features on health and wellbeing and also aims to focus on the brand’s history.
Ansareen Shaban, brand manager at Hovis owner Premier Foods, said: “We worked with Acknowledgement to redesign the website as part of a wider digital strategy initiative focusing on promoting transparency and advice about nutrition through social engagement.
“We are very happy with the new website, and feel it will encourage users to connect more deeply with the Hovis brand by providing a richer brand experience.”
