Ikea is set to open its first order and collection point next Monday, and has already announced plans for a second.
The Swedish homewares giant, a Top100 retailer in InternetRetailing’s IRUK500 research, will open the first of the small format stores, designed as a planning studio for customers buying kitchens, wardrobes and sofas, in Norwich on November 2.
Shoppers will be able to order from the small stores for collection or home delivery, while they will also feature a small section of Swedish Food Market products to take home on the day.
A second Ikea order and collection point is now being planned to open in Aberdeen in 2016.
Roger Cooper, IKEA Norwich order and collection point manager, said: “We are delighted to be bringing this unique version of IKEA to East Anglia this November. Today customers in the region shop with us online but they have to travel considerable distances to our Lakeside or Milton Keynes stores to see the range or get advice from our co-workers. The Order and Collection Point is a fantastic opportunity to connect all the ways you can shop with us in one place, right here in Norwich. “
