Brand Alley has been become the first major retailer to host the Give Change, Make Change campaign on its website.
The fashion retailer will now offer its shoppers the chance to round up their bill at the checkout, donating the extra pence to the campaign, founded by British Red Cross, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, WWF and Cancer Research UK. The scheme has been called a ‘virtual collection tin’ and the founding charities hope it will revolutionise the way money is given online.
Denise Bailey, partnerships manager at Give Change Make Change
, said: “We are delighted to be affiliated with such a respected e-tailer as BrandAlley and are excited to introduce its customers to Give Change Make Change and the four founding partner charities. We hope to raise significant funds through the generosity and ‘spare change’ of BrandAlley shoppers and support the work of British Red Cross, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, WWF and Cancer Research UK.
“Give Change Make Change is still in its infancy but we look forward to announcing details of new retailer partnerships in the near future.”
Melissa Littler, marketing director at BrandAlley
, which sells designer fashion, homewares, beauty and leisure products to its members at discount prices, said: “We have a loyal customer base with over 2.5 million registered users and we are pleased to offer our members the chance to donate to charity while they shop. Give Change Make Change is so easy to use and the spare pennies donated by shoppers will soon add up to help make a world of difference to health, humanitarian and environmental charity work.”
