[DE] Google presents new smartphone Nexus One

Linked InTwitterFacebookeCard
Search engine and ad business giant Google presented its first own smartphone Nexus One at its headquarter in Mountain View, California, and at the Consumer Electronics Show CES in Las Vegas. Nexus One, built by HTC, is a clear rival to Apple’s enormously successful iPhone. But when it comes to a comparison of software apps the user can download to his device Apple has a clear headstart with more than a 100.000 apps, whereas Google only offers about 10.000 apps.

Nexus One features a multitouch interface, built on top of its operating system Android 2.1. It features serveral localisations for the user interface as well as the usual standard applications, e.g. a browser, a video viewer, and so on. Market observers expect the first copies of Nexus One to be available in Germany in spring 2010, possibly from Google’s longtime partner T-Mobile.
