Shop.org's conferences in the US are events of significant scale and are a real gathering of the industry. For the second year in a row Shop.org is collaborating with EMOTA (the European Mail-Order Trade Association) to bring a combination of US and European speakers together for an extended conference, the Global eCommerce Summit, to be held this year in Monaco. The event also has the support of BPP, the Dutch event organisers and publisher of Twinkle (the Dutch eCommerce magazine, and a favourite of ours).
You can see the event details at their site, and Internet Retailing's Editor-in-Chief, Ian Jindal, will be hosting a panel discussion on Tuesday 27 October.
We're pleased to see that there's a focus on addressing the Chinese markets too, as befits a global conference. The keynote speaker is Hiroshi Mikitani, CEO of the Asian online-retail business Rakuten. We're really excited to hear and meet him. We have an interview with David Wei, CEO of Alibaba.com, in our November magazine issue, so we're looking increasingly to China and looking forward to understanding more first-hand from their successes and about their priorities.
If you've not already secured your tickets the GES has agreed a special rate for our readers. You can get €500 off the full price (€1495 becomes €995) by visiting the booking site and entering the code GES09MONIR
If you're going to be in Monaco do connect with Ian Jindal on twitter (@ianjindal) and if you're unable to join us we'll be posting snippets as they happen via the InternetRetailing.net twitter feed, @etail.
