IRX 2018 PREVIEW Omnichannel is the theme for this year’s Expo

InternetRetailing Expo 2018 (IRX 2018) will return rejuvenated this year with key speakers from retail and digital world including Julien Callede, founder, Made.com, Daryl Hughes, retail, e-commerce & fintech manager, Facebook and Instagram, Nigel Blunt, head of operations development, Sainsbury’s Argos [IRDX RARG], Tom Rooney, senior product manager, Mobile Apps and In-Store Digital, John Lewis  [IRDX RJLW],  Dave Crellin, head of online operations, Sainsbury’s [IRDX RSBR],  Steph Osiol, industry manager, Google [IRDX RGOOand Ken Daly, chief executive officer, JML.

The speakers will be discussing an effective omnichannel approach and how to make it easy for customers to communicate, select, buy, take delivery and return, as they wish to, no matter what channel they are using mobile, desktop or in store. The eight conference streams across the two days covering these multichannel aspects such as Marketing & Customer Obsession and Mobile-First as well as introducing a new track, Innovation & the Future.

As previously, the free-to-attend event will be co-located with eDelivery Expo (EDX 2018), which will bring an advantageous add-on by delivering two specialist conferences: Final Mile and Operational Excellence.

The omnichannel-focused event also features an extensive educational programme for retailers with a variety of seminars, case studies, workshops and clinics.

Focus on workshops

The first day will open with Evgeniya Rashbam, events director at Yotpo. Rashbam will take a look at everything e-commerce shoppers have said over the past year, using AI and machine learning to gather insights from millions and millions of reviews, attendees will be able to learn some surprising things about their customers. The workshop Yotpo – 10 Things You Don’t Know About Your Customers (that they’ve been telling you all along) is at 10:00 at IRX 2018, on March 21.

Saima Alibhai, managing principal consultant EMEA at Bronto Software then takes the lead. She’ll be discussing the leading UK retail executives’ top priorities for 2018, how they’re responding to consumer needs and how they’re optimising their digital and mobile strategies, among other insights. Oracle + Bronto – 2018 Trends: Inside the Minds of E-commerce Retailers is at 11:35, March 21.

Faiban Riegel, sales manager international at Descartes, will show the attendees what they should look out for in e-commerce warehouse management software and what they will be able to do today based on real-life examples. Descartes: E-Commerce Warehouse Logistics as a Competitive Advantage is at 11:35. This is the final workshop of the morning and will be followed by a break for lunch.

The conference then brings with Or Lenchner, chief operating officer at Luminati who will ’teach’ retailers on how to collect accurate data from any website, without being blocked or misled (cloaked). Lenchner will share a market leader’s lessons learned, best practices, a review of the tools as used every day by the biggest online retail companies. The last workshop of the day Luminati – Scraping reliable data from eCommerce websites without being blocked or misled is at 15:35, March 21.

Saima Alibhai will be the final speaker of the workshops, who will close the session with the focus omnichannel-the main theme of the event. She’ll consider the obstacles retailers facing, and which technologies will be key for the future of omnichannel success. The last workshop of IRX 2018-Oracle + Bronto – 2018 Trends: Inside the Minds of E-commerce Retailers is at 11:35, March 22.
