Judges have been appointed to select the winners of the first Internet Retailing Birthday Party Awards (BPA) – and now we're asking you to make your nominations for the awards.
Leading retailers and ecommerce industry veterans are among the 11 judges, all of whom have featured on the front cover of Internet Retailing magazine or been a keynote speaker at our annual events, Internet Retailing Conference or Internet Retailing Expo.
They are: Robin Terrell, executive director for multichannel and international at House of Fraser; Guy Hipwell, managing director of Fashionation; David Walmsley, director of multichannel development at Marks & Spencer; Jonathan Wall, ecommerce director at Shop Direct Group; Simon Forster, director at Debenhams.com; Peter Fitzgerald, director, retail at Google UK; Gavin Sathianathan, strategic partner manager at Facebook; Vicki Cantrell, executive director at Shop.org; Ashley Friedlin, chief executive of Econsultancy; Michael Ross, director of eCommera, and Moira Benigson, founder of the MBS Group.
Now we’re inviting you, our readers, to take part in nominating the retailers who you think are worthy of one of our awards, which are European in scope. The nomination form is available here. Retailers and suppliers alike can nominate the retailers they most respect. Retailers can also nominate themselves – although should also give a reason as to why they deserve outside recognition.
Ian Jindal, editor-in-chief of Internet Retailing said: “These awards are not the usual supplier-driven, PR-nominated awards, but rather nominated by professionals in our sector in an individual capacity.”
The awards will be celebrated at a party on July 18, to be held at the Cannon Bridge Roof Gardens in London, which will mark the coming of age of internet retailing, which turns 18 this year.
Six awards will be given, in the categories of customer, sustained performance, capability, innovation, omni, and judges’ award. Click here for more information about the awards
