Tell us which innovations impressed you in 2011

Which innovations have stirred up the British ecommerce industry in 2011? Which retailers’ ideas and technological enhancements could be considered ground-breaking? Who is worth watching in 2012?

We will be covering this year’s innovators and game-changers in a special feature in the January edition of Internet Retailing, and we’re hoping for you, the readers, to tell us who you think should be included in the round-up.

During 2011 we’ve seen some ground-breaking ideas such as Burberry’s ‘Tweetwalk’ which launched a fashion collection on Twitter, and Ocado’s augmented reality shopping wall. Ebay has given us the first pop-up ‘QR emporium’ and House of Fraser’s Aberdeen ‘Click & Collect’ store could be seen as a blueprint for multichannel shopping of the future. What other ‘industry firsts’ have come to your attention and really impressed during 2011?

Niche players such as Lovehoney, Asuitthatfits.com, and BrandAlley might be considered rising stars that are demonstrating new ways to bring product to market and delight the customer.

Please send through your thoughts to [email protected] and we will include as many attributed comments as possible. And as an added incentive, one respondent will be picked from the hat to win a little festive treat. We’ll need your input by the end of this week please.
