Germany and Italy lag other European countries in click and collect uptake

Germany and Italy have significantly lower numbers of customers ordering products online and picking up in store than European counterparts, a new survey has found.

The report by Salesforce found that Germany had a click and collect adoption rate of 51% while Italy’s was 56%.

This was behind Spain at 63% and Belgium at 66%, as well as the Nordics at 75% and France at 76%.

The leader in Europe was the UK and Ireland, whose figure was 81%.

The report surveyed 3506 consumers across the European markets of France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the UK, Ireland, the Nordics and Belgium, as well as several other countries. Globally the average figure was 59%.

The figures come from Salesforce’s Connected Shopper report.
