Spanish grocery chain Mercadona has partnered with fulfilment software provider Bringg to boost its capacity for fast delivery.

Mercadona will be able to offer customers of its Colmenas site an accurate delivery time slot, with delivery efficiency made faster by the optimising of loading and unloading times as well as delivery routes.

The Bringg platform also provides Mercadona better visibility over its fleet, allowing it to measure performance and respond in real time. Dispatchers can take preventative measures when issues are likely to occur.

José Ramón Pérez, product manager of Mercadona Online, said: “When we were looking for a solution to manage our entire delivery ecosystem, one of our first criteria was a partner with a proven record that offered a platform which would scale quickly and have near-immediate impact.

“We finally have the real-time visibility that we needed in order to produce the results we were hoping for, and we expect that’s only going to improve as we further leverage our data.”

Guy Bloch, CEO of Bringg, said: “There’s a reason that Mercadona is the largest grocer in Spain. They’re always looking for the next product or service that’s going to give them an edge in the market. For them to choose to work with Bringg is a testament to the strategic value we provide.

“We look forward to continuing to help Mercadona provide the flawless delivery experiences that their customers expect and deserve.”
