Mobile Fun says it will be trading in 26 countries by next March.

By the end of this financial year, the Birmingham-based mobile accessories retailer says, it will have opened for business in 20 new countries. Since April it has already launched eight new sites, in countries including Australia, Austria, Belgium, India and Ireland and has a presence in 14 countries. Sites to come will cover new markets in Europe, South America and Asia. They add to sites in territories including France, Germany, Spain and Holland. “Following the success of new European websites over the past year,” said Alex Ashman, group ecommerce manager at Mobile Fun, “we analysed ecommerce and mobile device penetration to select the new territories. The global market is a major growth driver for Mobile Fun, with international sales accounting for over 30% of our total orders. Although our expansion is a bold move for us, we are confident that our new websites will reinforce the fast growth we have enjoyed internationally so far.”

To support the sites, Mobile Fun is recruiting country managers, starting with Australia. Native-language speaking teams will work to drive sales and establish supply chains and partnerships, while making sure that preferred payment methods are available.
