Albert Heijn has introduced a new “digital saving” feature to its mobile application, allowing customers to collect and redeem loyalty points.
The new feature aims to remove the need for customers to collect physical stamps on a loyalty card, with the stamps instead added digitally to the retailer’s app at checkout. Stamps are automatically added to the digital savings card as soon as a customer scans his personal bonus card in the store or places an online order.
The supermarket has used the service to launch a savings campaign for crystal glasses from Villeroy & Boch Group which will run from today (26 August) and 17 November.
Albert Heijn recently launched a new update to its website which will allow customers to find products and discounts quicker. The company recently conducted a survey of customers to determine whether they would be interested in shopping for groceries via the online department store bol.com, with free delivery on orders of over €25.
The company’s total net consumer online sales reached €3.5 billion in 2018 while overall net sales were €16.5 billion.
