Consumers can now buy good through Android apps with PayPal

Its not all about Apple – Android apps can now collect revenue following the release of PayPal’s Mobile Payments Library, which lets customers pay for physical goods and services sold through apps on their phones without having to store personal financial information on their device.

Osama Bedier, PayPal’s VP of platform, mobile and new ventures, made the announcement on the company’s blog. It beta-launched its Mobile Payments Library on the Apple App Store late last month and is already being used by developers, according to Bedier.

PayPal has made similar moves online, signing a deal with Facebook which allows anyone with a PayPal account to pay for gifts from the social network’s gift shop, or even run ad campaigns using the billing system.
