Women’s fashion retailer Oasis is bringing digital shopping to the high street in its new flagship store. The brand says its new West End, London, store delivers a new way of shopping that answers the growth of multichannel and internet retailing.
The new store’s focus is on providing “the best customer service on the high street,” delivered through technology including mobile iPads that can handle transactions as well as offering customers the chance to see its latest online Lookbook. There are more iPads than fixed tills in the store, and Oasis is also promising more mobile point of sale innovations in months to come.
Other features at the two-floor store, designed by consultancy Dalziel and Pow, include stage lamps that can create a feeling of night and day, and opened-up fitting rooms where friends and partners can spend time.
Liz Evans, managing director of Oasis, said: “We’re really proud to be investing in the UK high street with a brand new flagship store which we believe introduces a new kind of shopping experience which we believe introduces a new kind of shopping experience. The growth in multichannel, especially internet, retailing means customers are demanding more from physical stores; more excitement, outstanding service and a more personalised experience driven by new technology. We believe our Argyll Street store will lead where other will follow.”
The new concept will also be used in Oasis’ Westfield Stratford City store, opening next Spring.
