First new ByBox locker banks open in £2m expansion
Tesco stores in north London and Beckenham are the locations for the first myByBox.com
locker banks to be opened as part of a £2m expansion of the company’s network.
Online shoppers can now opt to have their parcels delivered to myByBox.com locker banks at Tesco stores in Brent Cross, Wembley and Elmers End, Beckenham. They can do that by selecting the option where it is offered by a retailer, or they can sign up for the service direct at myByBox.com. Shoppers then use the ByBox address when making an online order and have the parcel automatically forwarded to their nearest locker bank. In either scenario, the recipient receives a text when the parcel is delivered to a locker to inform them and give them a code to unlock it.
Stuart Miller, chief executive of ByBox, said: “myByBox.com is making thousands of consumers happy as they collect their parcel following their commute or when they fill up on fuel, or during the grocery shopping.
“It certainly beats arriving home to find a card saying that your parcel can’t be delivered.”
The new banks are part of a expansion programme that is set to see lockers installed at 100 locations within the M25. A further 150 will be added across the UK, taking the total network to 500 banks aimed at consumers.
Sites of existing banks include railway stations, supermarkets, service stations and shopping centres.
