Jewson has launched 90-minute delivery for customers in the capital.

The multichannel builder’s merchant has teamed up with Shutl to offer delivery within 90 minutes or in a convenient one-hour window for customers ordering in person or by phone from six of its London branches, in Croydon, Walton-on-Thames, Fulham, Kentish Town, Romford and Wembley.

“As a business, Jewson have a clear understanding of their customers’ needs and a history of innovating to serve those needs,” said Tom Allason, founder and chief executive of Shutl. “With Shutl they have offered a unique service aimed at improving the productivity of builders out on a job, giving them what they want, when they want it. The bar’s raised for the rest of the industry.”

David Fenton, marketing director at Jewson, said: “We undertook research with Jewson customers in London to ascertain the day-to-day issues they face whilst working on site. Running out of product and material coupled with traffic congestion and parking restrictions were top of the list – our partnership with Shutl will help to address this allowing the customer more time on the job.”

Jewson also trades online but there was no detail available today as to whether, and when, the Shutl service might extend to its ecommerce business.
