Online print-on-demand retailer Spreadshirt is launching its first UK TV advertising campaign.

The clothing commerce specialist will see its 20 second ads encouraging viewers to design their own T-shirt run on channels four and five over the next four weeks at peak times. The ad was created by DC Media Networks and is part of a campaign to underline the company’s leading position in the UK market. Similar campaigns have also run in Germany and France.

Phil Rooke, (pictured) chief executive at Spreadshirt, said: “The launch of our first UK television advertising campaign is in response to the growing consumer involvement in content creation on clothing. Our platform is changing the market for consumers but also merchandisers and marketing departments with our B2B shop proposition. The UK is one of our fastest growing countries and this campaign is part of securing our market leadership in the UK."

Spreadshirt sells across channels including third party ecommerce marketplaces, white label and social media shops, as well as on its own website. It currently sells in 15 countries and in nine languages, and recorded growth for 2011 of 43% globally and 20% in the UK.
