A fire at Pandora’s European distribution centre in Hamburg, Germany has been extinguished but stock for stores across Europe will be fulfilled by the company’s Thailand distribution centre to ensure business continuity.
The Danish jewellery brand reported there were no injuries during the incident on 30 October and after an inspection said all the jewellery on site was intact. It added that, based on an initial assessment, European stores have enough stock to sustain sales until the distribution centre is back in operation.
Ecommerce sales will be unaffected by the fire as they are fulfilled through external distribution partners.
The company did recognise that there could be “potential impact on revenue and thereby business interruption insurance is being assessed”.
