Etailer Past Times is trading tweets for discounts on Valentine’s gifts in a social media campaign that launched today.

The discount on a range of Valentine’s themed products will increase in proportion to the number of people who take part in the Twitter campaign.

The retailer aims to boost its social media following through the event, which will see product prices lowered by 1% for every 100 tweets sharing the range.

Gareth Minor, managing director of Past Times, said the campaign had been devised to reward its Twitter followers, and to encourage more people to join the Past Times conversation on Twitter.

The auction started at 8am today and runs until midday on Thursday, when the discount will be set based on the number of tweets received.
