Retail evolution: from Brexit to car vending machines, plus IRUK Top500 retailers on strategy

In today’s InternetRetailing newsletter we’re considering some of the factors that are sure to affect retail in the year ahead. We consider, a year out, how preparations for Brexit are going from the retail perspective, and report on how shopping is changing – from DFS ensuring a smoother customer experience, to the ultimate smooth experience: buying a car from a vending machine, courtesy of Ford and Tmall.



Continuing the theme of frictionless shopping, IRUK Top500 retailers Argos and Sainsbury’s are working ever closer together in a relationships that’s starting to echo that of John Lewis and Waitrose, while our guest comment echoes the theme of the smooth experience, featuring Priya Iyer of Vee24 on the role that artificial intelligence can play in the customer contact centre.



We report as we see the first effects of the Beast from the East on online retail deliveries.
