Simply Be expands to US

Simply Be, part of home shopping business N Brown Group is expanding into the US market.

The US launch follows last year’s launch into Germany for the plus-sized fashion brand. Already SimplyBe.de reports growth of more than 50%, year on year since it launched in March 2009. Both the German and US sites are supported by Venda Enterprise’s ecommerce ecosystem.

The new US site boasts zoom, colour swatch features, and fast and secure checkout. Paul Kendrick, group development director at JD Williams Group, said: “Venda made the process of expanding into the US relatively straightforward. It was able to deliver the solution on time and to specification in the Germany market and its unique SaaS model enabled us to easily replicate many of the successes of Simplybe.de to suit the US market.”

Eric Abensur, group chief executive of Venda, said: “In today’s economic climate, to be undergoing such fast-paced expansion is a real sign of success. As companies move their online offering into new markets they need to be aware of the local retail processes and laws to ensure they offer a high-quality and secure customer service.

“JD Williams is a good example of a retailer making the most of the benefits online commerce offers and the flexibility and scalability of the Venda platform.”
