Small retailers can now benefit from a free edition of email marketing company iContact‘s signature software.
iContact Free Edition is a version of the company’s email marketing and social marketing tool, which it says makes it easy for individuals, community organisations and small businesses to stay in touch with customers, subscribers and fans through email, Facebook and Twitter.
iContact has just opened its London office and says companies of all sizes – including the 90% of UK businesses who are classed as small or medium enterprises – need to know about email and social media marketing at a time when spending on email marketing is growing fast.
Wilkey Group research carried out for the company in February 2011 found that the UK email market was worth £366m in 2010, 15% up on 2009.
Jeff Revoy, chief marketing and product officer for iContact, said: “iContact’s vision is to make email marketing and social marketing available to everyone in both their professional and personal lives. We are excited about the market opportunities in the UK and believe the iContact Free Edition will bring tremendous value to small businesses in this market.”
John Hayes, EMEA business development executive for iContact said: “We’ve been operating somewhat under the radar in the international markets over recent years and yet have steadily built a sizable UK client base. By launching local support and announcing the free edition of our software demonstrates our commitment to both existing and new clients in the region and will undoubtedly prove invaluable in helping small and medium-sized business grow.”
