Staedtler UK pencils in digital presence with B2B app

Staedtler: drawing attention to mobile apps (Image: SwiftCloud)

Staedtler UK, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of writing, colouring, and drawing instruments, is cementing its digital presence in the UK with the launch of a new app to improve B2B customer experience.

The pencil maker is working with Adventoris to leverage the SaaS provider’s SwiftCloud, a leading mobile app for distributors and wholesalers that provides businesses with a platform that enables their customers to see products, communicate with the company and make orders 24/7.

Prior to SwiftCloud, Staedtler UK was using an ordering system which was often time consuming for staff and customers, relying heavily on email or phone orders, and sales representative visits.

Staedtler UK required a robust solution, with airtight security measures, and complex ordering configurations with 1000s of products.

Through introducing an ordering app powered by SwiftCloud, Staedtler UK has digitised its customer ordering process, with 60% of its invited customer base having now downloaded and logged into the app.

Speaking of the new technology, managing director of Staedtler UK, Philip Wesolowski, says: “Before SwiftCloud, our trade sales channel operated with manual order capture and order entry which was very time consuming for both sales and customer service staff. Manual processes also led to errors resulting in credit notes and a less-than-perfect experience for the customer.”

He continues: “Some of our customers would also wait for a visit from their sales rep to place an order, meaning they placed orders sporadically.”

Wesolowski adds: “Introducing the SwiftCloud app to our organisation has not only allowed our customers more freedom to order from us whenever suits them, but it has also enabled us to provide up-to-date product information and a whole host of marketing materials to support them too. We are delighted with the ongoing support from SwiftCloud and looking forward to the added features due in Q3/Q4 2021.”

CEO of Adventoris, James Clarkson, says: “We are thrilled to be working with Staedtler UK to develop their digital presence and support them as they transform their ordering processes. The pandemic has seen a number of firms looking to digitise to make operations more efficient in difficult times and future-proof their sales processes as we look ahead. We have clients who have seen customers double their turnover after they have digitised, doing so opens up opportunities to truly optimise sales and provide a more user-friendly and efficient process to both customers and staff alike.”
