US consumer electronics retailer Best Buy has launched its UK website ahead of its much-anticipated entry into the UK marketplace — but is limiting its activity to recruitment for the moment.
The site carries details of eleven vacancies, including a web design manager and an online content manager for the retailer's ecommerce team.
The retailer is sure to be one to watch as it has done much ecommerce pioneering in the US, including starting a 500-strong army of staff Twitterers called the 'Twelpforce'
and developing a site-independent wishlist
But Best Buy's arrival in the UK early next year is certain to meet stiff resistance from dominant electronics retailers DSGi — on the ropes this week after it emerged that staff have been disparaging customers on Facebook
— and Comet.
